What was so bad about this movie? NOTHING! It kind of makes me rethink watching movies though. Say you have a favorite movie (this isn't the best Farley but it's his third best) and the actors/directors who did it think it's a joke. Kind of takes away the movie.

shareRight--and he was tired of being typecast in the same kinds of roles. He didn't want to be the "fat guy who falls down" anymore, and was surely tired of being laughed at because he was fat. Someone in that position isn't likely to have a positive reaction to seeing themselves with the problems and in the situation they're trying to get out of; they're likely to become very emotional about it instead.

Chris Rock was one of his best friends and has pointed out that the famous Chippendale's sketch on SNL really hurt Farley's feelings. But Farley was a trooper and always gave it his all despite how hurt he was.

Not sure why Farley would be so upset over this, his work on SNL is much more over-the-top and exploited than what you see in this film. Btw, I didn't think this film was as bad as it's being rated here, its humor was way better than Almost Heroes (probably one of farley's worst movies imo). And you also have a really hot and young Nicolette Sheridan to stare at, what more can you want?

shareWell look at it this way, Farley was probably fairly deep into his depression by the time this film was finished. So, seeing himself up on the big screen playing the same kind of role for the umpteenth time probably didn't help matters much. I personally think BHN is a decent flick even if it's not one of his best.

shareI think he just wanted to have more versatility in his career, and not be tied down to the typical clumsy fat guy. I don't think it was so much that he thought the movie was that bad. He could have done a lot worse. Actually, I thought it was his 2nd best movie behind Tommy Boy.
