How come...

Sorry if this sounds like I'm complaining, i'm just curious.

How come they don't put out any disney movies about Hannukah?

reply

Well Walt Disney was Anti-semitic so that might have something to do with it...

I'm gonna venture a guess and say it's nothing to do with that, but rather everything to do with the fact that only 2 percent of the country is Jewish, while 80 percent is Christian. Therefore, Christmas movies have a much, much larger market, and are therefore much, much more likely to be made than Hanukkah movies.

reply

Why doesn't ANYBODY make Hannukah movies? I would guess that Santa Claus and his elves offer more movie possibilities than do a dreidel and eight candles!!!

I agree I'm Christian and I love to see how other religions celebrate. It's no big deal. I really don't get why when we do get holiday movies we talk more about the celebration than the reason why we celebrate but in Beauty and the Beast The Enchanted Christmas it captured the spirit.

They DID make a Hannukah movie.

Watch Adam Sandler's "Eight Crazy Nights". Be happy.
