Real-Life Ironies of Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy

It’s fascinating how there are multiple occurrences in this film with moments of Uma Thurman’s portrayal of Poison Ivy that came true in real life.

Poison Ivy doesn’t kiss Commissioner Gordon because she says he is too old for her. In real life, Uma Thurman divorced Gary Oldman who was too old for her, and he went on to play Commissioner Gordon in the Dark Knight Trilogy.

Poison Ivy attempts to steal Bruce Wayne away from Julie Madsen (Elle McPherson). In real life, Uma Thurman was in a relationship with Arpad Busson, who was previously in a relationship Elle McPherson and had children with both McPherson and Thurman. So Uma really lived out the character’s story in reality!
