But the funny thing is, one of the guys at the auction is played by Democratic Senator Patrick Leahy.

There's some similarity to the Penguin, specifically Burgess Meredith's version, in how openly shameless he is, and also to the Joker and Two-Face in how he likes to talk out of both sides of his mouth.
