Why is he ashamed of the penis pump?

Austin is no ashamed of singin' n shaggin' anything that moves and in any situation. So why is he so ashamed of the pump? I understand the gag "it's not mine" and it's a funny one, but it just doesn't fit the character in my opinion.

There's a stigma surrounding the need for male enhancement.

I think you are correct, but I'm pretty sure penis pump are not classified as "male enhancement".
It's considered a sex toy, like a vibrator or a whip or whatever else floats your boat.

I doubt Austin "needs" the pump: he can apparently get it up in 0.1 secs just because the wind is blowing. So it's clear he uses this for fun.
I wish he dropped the front and just told Vanessa "let me show you what this does, babyyy!"

No a pump is an enhancement tool. And the fact that Austin is a confident sex hound who feels like he needs an enhancer just makes his character all the more funny. I’m not saying he has erectile disfunction, but maybe he wants to be even bigger than he already is.

reply

No a pump is a sex toy. At least that's where it's classified in any shop.

I agree, it's funny that he wants to use the pump too, but I don't get why he's ashamed of it.

reply

I suppose it’s an enhancer that could be used as a toy, if the user wasn’t embarrassed that he felt the need to use one.

You quoted two articles that don't add much to the argument.
Like the wikipedia article itself says, unless it's a medically approved one, it's not a "medical device" of much use, it can actually create damage.
The common penis pump is a toy, used for fun, like a nipple pump or a pussy pump.
https://www.amazon.com/Sex-Toys-Pumps-Enlargers/b?ie=UTF8&node=1243839011
As you can see even Amazon, certainly not a sex shop, lists pumps as a sex toy. But you can look online anywhere they SELL IT, and see for yourself where it's listed.

I'm assuming that the one that Austin owns is a toy used for fun.
That's why I don't get why somebody that explicit about sex would feel embarassed by that.
Otherwise, if he owns a medical device for his medical condition, all the more reasons for him not to be ashamed of it.
That would be handicap shaming.

Lol seriously. If he didn’t need one, why on earth would he be embarrassed by it? If it was just a sex toy, why would he be shy about it?

reply

That's my point exactly!

1- this is not a troll post, if you don't want to get going with the discussion, see ya, no problem. But my OP questions remain valid because....
2- Yes, they call it enlarger. That's what these pump are called. Nobody calls it "penis toy". But they are pretty much used and sold as that: toys.
3- Your version makes totally sense: he is embarassed because he thinks Vanessa will think he has a small penis. That's understood.
My gripe with this reaction is that it would be what average people think, not somebody like Austin who has no problem spouting at girls he just met anything sexual.
Why would he have a problem with owning a penis enlarger pump, even if because his dick is small. So what? That's the opposite of confident and sexually liberated, which is him in any other circumstance.
Like I said, the gag is funny, but not appropriate for him.

How can anyone not know that a pump is not a toy, but meant to 'enlarge'?

Here are the facts in a nutshell:

1) Penis pump is a device meant to 'enlarge' the penis.

2) This leads to only men with small penises needing penis pumps.

3) Consequently, if Austin admitted it was his, he would be admitting to having a small penis.

4) No 'virile ladies' man' wants to have a reputation of having a small penis.

5) Therefore, it's not 'embarrasment' so much as it's 'fear of damage to reputation', which would lead to 'attracting fewer women', which would lead to 'being able to have less sex'.

How is it possible for anyone to watch this movie and not realize these points?
