I heard that the books that the Bourne films are based on had Jason Bourne seeking Carlos The Jackal. Does anyone know if this is true or not? It almost seems that Aidan Quinn's character (the naval officer, not Carlos) is almost like Bourne in training! Hence, in a way, this could be looked upon as a prequel to the Bourne films.
shareI've only read the first of the Bourne books but you're correct. In that book his nemesis is Carlos. I don't know about the sequels.
shareAll three Bourne books involved Carlos the Jackal. To see a movie that more follows the book, check out 'The Bourne Identity', not the Matt Damon movie but the show starring Richard Chamberlain and Jacklyn Smith. It is great and is available on DVD.
