This has to be one of the most underrated movies of all time. I just cant understand why it was in limited release at cinemas. I guess maybe because it was Canadian production. The movie has everything, and I hope more people take notice of the movie over the coming years, just like Shawshank Redemption. It is the best CIA film out there, and deals with the most remarkable true villian of all time in Carlos the Jackal. Anyone else agree on how it is so underrated?

But, it also doesn't have any big-name stars in it either (remember we're talking American audiences here who might know Sutherland from somewhere but wouldn't know who Kingsley is) and this being an action movie the movie-going public would rather see Bruce Willis (giving him just as an example) rather than Aidan Quinn. I believe it went straight to DVD in the states, but definitely a diamond in the rough of straight to DVD releases at the videostore!

Yeah, but I wouldnt really classify it as an action. More of an espionage thriller. Still, I would have thought Ben Kingsley and Sutherland alone would be enough to sell a film, as Americans would know Kingsley from Ghandi, Species, and Schlinders List. If it did go straight to DVD, it has the best ever straight to DVD movie out there. I couldnt think of a better movie that has. Maybe Equalibrium and Harsh Times with Christan Bale are two other great straight to DVD movies worthy of cinema release.

Had to look this up because I remember seeing it back in the day only because a friend of mine and her uncle rented it out, and we all watched it together. I only recall it because it was a spy thriller, and because I kind of liked Aidan Quinn, the star. The one memorable scene for me in the film is when the real Carlos and the fake Carlos finally meet up, and the real one says, "Who are you?" The fake one says, "I'm you, mother******!" and punches him out. And,yeah I only remember seeing some critical reviews of the film, but don't recall it even being promoted---it seems to have slid under the radar back then.
