Why did the Queen let Dimitri leave when she found out he was in love with Anastasia?
Wouldn't it make more sense for her to keep him there and inform Anastasia right away?
If Dimitri had taken the train, Anastasia (barring the fact she'd have been killed, which the Queen didn't know anyway) would never have seen him again. So what was the point of the Queen telling her he didn't get the money only when he was gone and it no longer mattered?
And why did they have to leave together anyway? What prevented them from living in the palace?
