ah cmon itsa good laugh
"He's in town with a few days to kill"
@feargal72, i'm with you. compred to AWIL? it is a watered down disgrace to the family name lol. but when you pick it up for under 5 bucks? who's complaining. being a horror freak (especially the werewolf genre) i ust HAD to have this in my collection. & there are much MUCH! worse. that abomination appropriately called "cursed" being one such example. what as it? "scream if you saw the werewolf last summer"? teen-angst monster movie. it was like "heathers" meets "the munsters". & ginger snaps back: the beginning (the only decent one of the three) did the teen angst werewolf so much better. i'm not AWIP biggest die-hard fan, but it does for when i've watched all my other werewolf/horror flicks to death.
shareThere's some laughably bad crap littered throughout this film. Almost every piece of dialogue, for example.
If people can justify keeping copies of Plan 9 in circulation then surely they can find room for this type of schlock even if it doesn't gain similar notoriety.
So make a better one or quit snivelling.
"They sucked his brains out!"
There already IS a better one, and it takes place in London
so *beep* off AWIP lover
Aw crap. And I just bought this to see if it's any good. D'oh!

I actually find it far worse than EXORCIST II:THE HERETIC - which I do agree is a very poor film.
I found AWIP utterly inept and was numb with boredom and disbelief long before the end. Watching the movie, my stomach began to sink after 5m and continued to do so right up til the credits rolled.
Dreadful.......simply dreadful.
And Darkness and Decay and the Red Death held illimitable dominion over all.
I've just watched it. Awful movie. Absolutely dreadful.
It would be 'laughable' if this wasn't a sequel to such a classic... but it feels like an insult. I actually feel slightly depressed, I wish I'd left it in the dvd case.
Maybe try and think of it not as a sequel(?). The only real similarity is that it has Werewolf in the title...there are none of the original characters etc. I will admit that in regards to storyline/character development/black humour it's virtually an identical copy, but AWIL had a certain chemistry that I'm sure many other films of this genre have tried, and failed, to duplicate.
I thought AWIP was a disgrace when I first saw it, back in 96 (?) but saw it again (I picked a copy up at a car boot sale) not long ago and it's actually......alright. I love the scene of his coming out of the water fountain.....the lead actor is clumsily charming and Julie Delpy is awesome....even though some people argue that this film ruined her career. And yes....the soundtrack sucked then and it sucks now.
I'd give it a firm 6.5
This film is a huge letdown compared to the original, but I don't see the need for all of the mellow drama from these forums. Weaker cast, weaker script and less capable director. I wonder what would have happened if Landis actually had a hand in creating this.
shareMELLOW drama??? More like highly-strung drama, the way some of the people here go on about it, but FYI, the word is MELODRAMA, dearie.
shareit's actually......alright
I kind of enjoy it in a B movie sort of way, and it does have a lot of problems obviously, but it's kind of fun and stupid. I actually saw it in the theater, but I was a stoner back then, and very stoned when I saw it, and for 15 years the only thing I remembered about this movie was the bungee jumping scene. I recently saw it coming on cable and watched it out of curiosity, and can see how I forgot, it's pretty forgettable. It was moderately entertaining though, in a silly kind of way, but I didn't hate it. Tom Everett Scott seemed like he was really going places after That Thing You Do, this kind of killed that momentum, and his career never really did live up to that promising start. You have to wonder what he was thinking, he was critically acclaimed for his role opposite Tom Hanks, in a Tom Hanks directed film, then goes right into this...movie.
"Got a cigarette Nels?"
Just awful.
I still have no idea why they tried to tie it into the original. Damages what plot they DID have going.
