Mariah Carey's recollection

Mariah Carey in interview here http://www.smh.com.au/news/entertainment/articles/2010/01/22/126366315 5202.html states that Glitter was released on 11 September - but the IMDb has it down as being released in the US on 21 September!
Quote:

"Glitter was released on September 11, 2001," Carey explains. "Could there be a worse day for that movie to release? I don't think so. If I could go back in time and not do it, yeah, I would definitely not do it. I don't mean to disrespect the director but it was a lot to take on, as the screenplay wasn't even finished when we were shooting. It was a mess."

I think she meant the soundtrack was released on 9/11.

That's sweet what Lee Daniels said about her.

The soundtrack, not the film, was released on 9/11.

I don't procrastinate...I reschedule.

Did you notice that in the quote from Carey herself, she says "...a worse day for a movie to release..."?

Perhaps you ought actually read the posts before calling the writer names, dork.

The soundtrack was released on 9/11/01. The movie was released on 9/21/01.

It certainly made no difference what the release date was. The consensus on the album was that it was subpar (remember the frigid welcome her first single/video off the film got?) and the film itself was an abominable bore. The mediocre sports film that Keanu Reeves released at the time actually did well. so there must've been something uplifting about it. Even Enrique Iglesias' schmaltzaton "Hero" song hit the right nerve & broke the bank. But Mariah's film & CD just didn't connect. The fact that she also had some sort of nervous breakdown right before 9/11 had a "backdraft" effect. People were overwhelmed by the catastrophe & here comes this diva with her histrionics & meltdowns & they couldn't care less. I'm surprised she even had a "recollection" of this time & place as she seemed to be disintegrating (unless she was faking that all along like Britney's meltdown, which makes her eligible, in my book, to an Academy Award). Anyway, she ended up better than Britney ("Crossroads", helloo?) and Whitney (once a promising film career smoked away)or even Madonna's 95% mis-career (Evita excepted)by doing rather well with her minor role in PRECIOUS, so credit where credit is due.
