I saw a lot of this movie the other day when it was on TV. I had watched it for about 30 minutes before I realized that this was the Mariah Carey movie that is one of the most notoriously hated movies of all time and on almost every "Worst Ever" list.

It was bad but it was just pretty run of the mill bad (just a formulaic "some nobody hits the big time" plot). It certainly wasn't legendarily awful. People just must hate Mariah Carey or something for this movie to have gained such infamy.

I agree. A 2.1? This movie wasn't that bad. Its enjoyable,the songs are good and I personally love Mariah!

Yes! My mom likes it a lot so I'll watch it with her, I think it's pretty blah, but I remember when it came out people acted like it was beyond bad and I could never ever figure out why.
