All his drunkily mannersisms were just a knee-slapper. I rolled in laughter especially when he first appears onscreen where he discovers that his wife in bed has been dead all this time, the way he reacts to it, as if it were just spilled milk or something.

Yep. Unfortunately James Coburn was just so freaking awesome that it was difficult not to find almost everything he did and said to be inappropriately amusing. =P
