Yeah, he's pretty gross, but there's scumbags in all professions. Some of those child abusers are very wily and manage to get through background screening. It's depressing, but don't forget there are TONS of great teachers out there too, making very little money for the work they are doing. We just hear about the bad ones, unfortunately. Peace.

Childress, and Ellen, were there to represent the other "alternatives" to Garfield's (Jackson) character. Ellen is still somewhat innocent, hasn't seen the ultimate ugliness Garfield has ("Then, a kid with a nail showed me that I was living in his world."). Childress is the other extreme, a burn-out who has opted simply to "punch the clock" and not care, but who, still hasn't been there and done what Garfield had (which is why he idolizes him througout the film).

I'm not sure. I've seen my faire share of systmes that corrupt and sometimes the only way to teach is pure desipline. Show them what they produce and treat them with that same disrespect. Maybe enough of it will show them right.

I cant say creepy, most men with an oppurtunity to bone little rita would take it. Had I been there I would have pounded her in that bungalow. As for the way he treats the students, its basically giving them some of their own medicine.
