I think this film was a bit confusing. I mean it didn't know whether it should be a thriller like seven or more traditional portrait of the school life like dangerous minds. It just ended up being a mess of a movie. Jackson was great though, like always.

I agree with the OP. My mind was trying to figure out/pigeonhole the movie and I couldn't figure out exactely where it was going. Granted I'm seeing in now, 11 years or so after it's release so I don't remember any hype for it. In the end tho I thought it was a solid movie.
