Garfield should've shot all three of them at the end

I mean why not? He didn't have any thing to lose and he already had killed Benny. He probably wouldn't have done a day in jail anyway. These guys break into his house with guns and they have guns to his face.

I'm not sure he had a chance, really. They barged in on him, and even if he was hiding in wait I doubt he could get them all.
Plus, I guess he was just so 'broken' at that time, he thought he could both sign out on his terms the best way he could...perhaps make a point to the trio in a twisted but very cool way....and turn the tables on Ceasar.

"Mulder? Are you sure you're all right?"
"I'm fine.......I'm free."

The movie's ending is a bit strange, but I'm actually very glad Garfield didn't shoot them all in the end. In fact, the game of Russian Roulette does them all more harm than good. True, Garfield and Caesar accidentally kill themselves. But the other two kids finally learn to wise up, graduate from school and get off the streets. That's what's beautiful about the ending.

Did you not get the point of the movie? He knew they were coming and was waiting for them instead of trying to leave. So why would he try to kill them? He was a teacher all the way to the end, and was able to get one kid to give up the gang nonsense. He was ready to die, and used the most extreme means to teach them a lesson, since that's the only thing that could get through to them...

They didn't accidentally kill themselves. They did that to themselves on purpose
