Wasn't the kid at morgue the grafitti kid that Benny killed in the beginning of the movie? Wasn't the kid in Bennys moms photo the kid doing the grafitti? It didn't even look like Benny..it looked like the kid benny shot.

The mother is the one who identified him and she was grief-stricken and just wanted to end her worry. Ellen told Trevor it was Benny to gauge his reaction. When she didn't buy it, she called his bluff with the rosary and he admitted the truth.

Nope, it is Benny. I have the movie, I am looking at it right now and it certainly is Benny. If anything, just look at the facial hair; the tagger had none, the body being displayed in the morgue has the same facial hair that Benny did.

It was Benny in the morgue. I just watched the DVD again. I understand the confusion though, as I was confused too.
The film kind of muddled that whole 'dead guy' issue, and I'm not sure why.
Maybe to throw the viewer off as to who was really dead and who was not.
