Disney against mothers

How come loads of Disney shows/movies dont have Mothers?
Smart Guy
Lion King
Little Mermaid
Chicken Little
And others which I can't remember at the moment

Smart guy wasn't a disney channel original (i think)

I don't think disney is "against mothers" For fathers it's hard to fill the mothers spot, but seriously, sometimes the situtions that the father's are in are not real.

Actually most people I know that only have one parent have a mother not a father. Trust me, I know.

Smart house is one you didn't list...

Yeah, if the people in shows didn't have on parent they probably don't have a mother.

There is one I forget but it's more of and adult show with a famous actor, forgot the show's name and the actor.

And sort of It takes two in a little sense.

Lizzie mcguire had a mom and dad,Sister Sister Tia had a mom-she was her adoptive mom but she had one,Tuck Everlasting she had a mom-its a live movie but its still by disney and Alexis's character does have a mom same with The princess diaries her dad died and she had her mom. I dont know of any more but thats as good as I can get it.

halloweentown only has a mom! so they dont always just have a dad.

I know what you mean. There are quite a few movies and shows where the characters don't have moms. Most of the time it is the mom that gets killed or is already dead.

The Jersey-didn't have a mom or did it?

The Jersey did have a mom.
In Hannah Montanna it would have destroyed the relationship between Jackson, The Dad and Milly. Also they most likely would have never moved to Malibu.

I think Disney just likes to kill off parents- Dumbo had a mom, Cinderella and Aurora from Sleeping Beauty had none, Bambi had a dad, Aladdin had a dad, Andy from Toy Story had a mom...etc.

I was shocked that nobody but the post above me mentioned Bambi. When I first read this post I thought of Bambi's mom dying. O, and Finding Nemo, that was sad too
