at part 1. not promising so far

which is sad, because steven weber and rebecca de mornay are pretty good. the kid is terrible, but I don't think the way danny is written could be translated to a good performance. actors that young don't have the experience necessary.

also, it's laughable how the director seems to think little tiny atmospheric scares are effective. for example, they're all out on the porch and walk inside. the camera stays on the porch and one of the seats begins to rock back and forth. this is after multiple times of doors and cabinets closing and whatnot. it was tiresome by that point, and silly. were we supposed to be all "OMG THE CHAIR IS MOVING BY ITSELF!!!!! OMG I'M *beep* MY VERY PANTS RIGHT NOW!!! JESUS, RESURRECT AND COME SAVE ME!"

anyway, it's not very good so far. I'm in no rush to finish.
