You people are sick, making fun of this little boy... he did a fine job. Insulting his appearance and acting abilities (as a young little boy!!) is disgraceful. May God (granted he doesn't exist but still!) Have mercy on your soul! Courtland - don't let them get you down brother. You did a fine job. Hope all is well for you these days. You were a cute kid and anyone who talks smack has some serious problems.

shareI thought Courtland was adorable in commercials (he did a lot of them) but casting him in this was not a good idea. After a while, he just got grading and seemed more stupefied than supernatural here. Not all his fault, the direction of him had a lot to do with it as well.
The part of Danny is a hard one and I wouldn't know whom to have cast in 1997 for the part as no one comes quickly to mind. But it is a part for a mystery child-one that gives more mystery in his actions than anything else, going this way for the character may have been too predictable even for him.

Late 90's--little Haley Joel Osment could have played Danny with one hand tied behind his back. Indeed, that role he played in Sixth Sense is very similar to Danny in many respects.
shareCourtland was also great in a small role in the movie "Go"! I agree, I blame it on bad direction (and bad writing)! Mick Garris can NOT direct children at all!
shareI prefer the kid in the movie much more than the child in the mini-series. I can't speak for all the others who feel the same way as I do, however it is nothing personal. You are taking people's criticism of the child's acting a little too much. I put the blame, if there is to even be blame, on the ones who done the hiring. However by the end of the miniseries I was really tired of looking at the little man.

shareI agree it’s awful how people make fun of a child and can be so hateful. God forbid they have a child with a characteristic like Courtland. I have a new nephew like that. Part of it is due to being a mouth breather due to nasal problems. Some is due to thumb sucking too. But who cares? It’s sick people have nothing better to do than put down a child’s look. I hope all these haters have a child who is less than perfect. Will they struggle to love or look at their child?
