shareI just watched it again on my new DVD copy last night. It was my thrid time seeing it and it gets better with every viewing. I feel it is side by side with THE WIND AND THE LION as John Milius's best two films.
Masterful battle sequences, excellent music by the late great Elmer Bernstein and his son Peter, outstanding performances, and lightening sharp, cheer inducing direction by Milius. A grand achievement in filmmaking all around.
