Wow, great house...
Anyone know that house they filmed when Roosevelt came home?

I read somewhere that it was a mansion in the San Antonio area. Can't give you anything more specific.
It bears no resemblance whatsoever to Sagamore Hill, the real Roosevelt home in Oyster Bay, New York which was a Victorian home with a shingled exterior and wraparound porch. The door with the arch does, however, bear an odd resemblance to the front door of Franklin Roosevelt's home in Hyde Park, New York. I guess they figured that was close enough!
Milius says in the commentary track on the DVD that the house is not suppose to represent Sagamore Hill. I believe he says that it is suppose to represent a place that Roosevelt's family had rented in Washington, DC or New York City, I can't remember exactly which one.

Harmonica: An ancient race.
I'm not doubting what Milius said, but it wouldn't make sense for TR to reunite with his family in NYC or DC, as the regiment went straight from Cuba to Montauk Point, New York, on the eastern tip of Long Island (presumably at TR's arrangement) and Sagamore Hill would have been on the way to NYC.
shareThat's true. I guess a bit of fictional license taken by Milius.
