That's the last episode of Season 2 "Rhyme & Reason". That's one of my favorite non-Joey Heric-related episodes. I love it.

Joey Herik is now on Boston Legal.

Joey Heric is not on Boston Legal now. First, the show isn't even on 'now'. Second, there has never been a character named Joey Heric on Boston Legal. Get your facts straight.

I'm 25 years old now, but I was struck in that episode by how much I could relate to the boy's frustration at the dinner table scene. You could tell this was a mom who told him essentially "No, because I said so" ALL the time, and you can tell that he genuinely is much more restricted than his friends and at that point, your social life is probably the most important thing in the world - and this boy is constantly having his social life thwarted by mom's restrictions. That is an EXTREMELY frustrating situation for a 13-year-old with strict parents to be in. I could relate to his frustration as there were many times I was thwarted by my mom arbitrarily limiting my freedom as a teenager, and missing out on a lot of irreplaceable experiences because of it.

Of course, that does not justify what he did by any stretch of the imagination... but the anger and helpless feeling of frustration when your freedom is taken away like that, time after time... I got that.
