'The Practice' vs real court

I am wondering if any lawyers or legal experts on this forum can point out the differences in shows such as this one or "Law and Order" and what actually happens in a real life courtroom. One I do believe I know is the clerk reads the verdicts instead of a member of the jury and before a verdict can be read, the judge has to verify all the paper work is correct. Is there anything else?

I wonder half the time if what they do could be classified as 'willful ignorance'. To make things simpler, they never get found out, but if the DA office ever found out some of their antics, would they be punished?
