Odd actor recycling...

Has anyone else, who has seen most or all of the series, found it odd that the show tends to re-use the same actors but for totally different characters?

ie:
- The suspicious nun in the California death penalty case; same actress who played a local nurse the season before
- The alzheimer mom's daughter who got their marriage annuled; same girl played a nasty parole officer several seasons later
- In the porn case, the DA was Richard Thomas all long white haired; then in season 7 he's a clean cut and much younger looking doctor.

But probably THE STRANGEST is the actor Gregory Itzen. Over the series he appears in FIVE different episodes, each time as a different character.

What struck me as most odd.. there are two monumental death penalty cases that Ellenor takes on, one in season 4, another in season 7. Greg Itzen starred in both. In the first he was the vicious prosecutor who wouldn't give up. Then in the second, he was on the defense in the other civil case Eugene and Jimmy were against.

In both of those episodes, I was quite pleased to see him mercilessly hold out, hold out, hold out... and eventually get crushed by the firm, especially in the DP case. His remark, "We're not losing him on the day of execution!!" made me want to take a crowbar to his head.

(And please, spare me the bitching about using spoiler space on an old series. Some folks have never seen and are now watching when it.. either online, occasional tv, recordings, etc.) Thanks! :D
