Maya and her complaining....

She is constantly talking about what a bad father Jack was. It is not as if Jack left them in a rundown, rat infested apartment, in a dangerous part of a city. While he was not there much physically, he did support her financially. It is not as if he left them without. Her mother did not have to work 3 jobs just to make rent and put food on the table. He obviously was there when she really needed him financially. He did give her a good job, and she constantly talks about how bad of a father he was. Sorry, I am watching seasons 1, 2, and 3 now and she is just really annoying me...lol.

Well, that was her personality; she was self-righteous and whiny, and was called on it many times.

She couldn't see anything beyond her dad being "bad" at raising her, 'cause she grew up RICH. She had no concept of being truly in dire straits.

Money isn't parenting. He was never there for Maya when she was growing up.

Yeah. I, uh, had to dismember that guy with a trowel.

MAYA: You can't just get your way by throwing money around.

JACK: Pumpkin, how do you think you got into Stanford?

MAYA: Hard work and good grades.

JACK: Okay!

She was a hugely annoying self righteous hypocritical character. Claimed to be interested in the soul of a person but constantly dated guys for superficial reasons. Claimed to want a relationship based on equality but bossed around Elliot whenever he wasn't doing what she wanted. Claimed to be an intellectual wanting to make it on her own merits but took every advantage of being the daughter of a wealthy man. And constantly complained about her father being terrible at raising her. There is so much worse. He loved her and just wasmt there for her growing up. My father beat us and we always wished he wasn't around
