I noticed that someone added this tune to the soundtrack listing for Emma. I've listened to a midi clip of it online. I'm not recognizing it. Does anyone know in which scene this tune is heard? Thanks! :-)

This is the scene in which Emma tells Harriet that Robert Martin is plain, and that Harriet can do better than him. Interesting that they would score it with an instrumental rendition of a song that juxtaposes laundry chores with love! ;o) (The speaker in the song falls in love with a laundry maid, I think?) Kinda underscores how clueless Emma is.

I've added "The First of April" to the Emma soundtrack listing.
It's the dance tune heard at Randall's shortly after Frank has sung first with Emma and then with Jane. Frank says, "Miss Woodhouse, I have come here determined to dance, and nothing will satisfy me but that you and I shall show the way. Will you?" The only instrumentation is pianoforte. I believe we are to assume that Mrs. Weston is playing.
