No, he was in love with Emma. He just enjoyed Jane's piano playing. Not surprising since she was a better musician than Emma .

As he mentioned elsewhere, he admired all of her accomplishments, and no doubt thought her a pretty woman. But for us old farts, that's usually as far as it goes when young women are concerned :).

Seriously, I suspect that he also felt a certain sense of poignant sadness, as he recognized that a woman with her superior talents was destined to the governess trade.
