You know as I watched the film I have to confess that in a way I wished I could have lived like them. I mean from the looks of it they had no money worries whatsover (well that's what I'm led to believe watching these Britishers..;-)....) Nice "work" if you can get it!

I can think of one character who was in financial straits when Widmerpool withdrew his credit. You remember the scene in the Brighton(?) hotel when Nick Jenkins went to attend to his uncle's affairs after his demise?
