I loved this movie and miss seeing it on Disney along with so many other movies and shows they no longer air. For awhile they would air Wish Upon A Star, Teen Witch, Flash Forward, Baby Sitters Club ( the series) and many other great shows. It's too bad the lineup is filled with crappy shows and movies. Does anyone else miss the old Disney?
i LOVED the babysitter's club and fast forward. and most of the original movies. susie q, brink, johnny tsunami, alley cats strike, zenon, under wraps, and more! haha
i need to watch all these again. brings back the good ol' innocent lil' kid days
I know what you mean... the other day, I was going through cds that I had given my younger cousin and I came across my old Youngstown cd....... I had to listen to that song that was the Jett Jackson theme on repeat.... =D
So do I! I still watch Disney but it's no where near as good as it used to be. I miss the days when Jett Jackson was on and movies like Brink and Johnny Tsaumni. I even liked it better during the Lizzie Maguire and Even Stevens days. I used to love Hillary Duff back then! And this is probably unimportant but the Disney girls back then were much better role models then the ones now.
Psh, I miss it. Like when "The Jersey" and "Smart Guy" was on. Man, that was great. And all the old Disney Channel movies like "Horse Sense" and "Wish Upon a Star" and "Under Wraps". Everything now is either stupid and not funny at all.
"Perhaps just one more, Master Harry, for luck?" [totally great. best line ever.]

You can soooo say that again. They weren't coming out with nude and underwear pics (Vanessa, Miley) and trying to make themselves sound like sexed up alcoholics on Twitter (Demi Lovato).

OMG i wish they would play them again! there all so much better than like highschool musical and all that!
I agree with missing a lot of the old Disney shows and thinking that Disney has lost its magic... but I think it was losing it long before the era of shows you guys are describing. I think most of what you're referring to with the different shows just has to do with getting older...not necessarily the quality of the shows. I'm 26 and I loved movies like Wish Upon a Star, Freaky Friday (new and old), Escape to Witch Mountain (new and old), Brink, Motocrossed, Flash, and tv shows like Flash Forward, but that's because I was a teen when those movies came out. I can't stand the crap on Disney now, and while I don't think I would have liked it when I was younger, who knows? Sadly, if I were a pre-teen now, maybe I'd be posting on a board in ten years saying Disney's gone to crap and they need to bring back stuff like High School Musical (which I can't even watch).
I think Disney had some good stuff in the 90s, but really started to go down in quality around the early 90s. They became more commerical and quit showing ad-free movies. They also quit airing ALL old cartoons. My brother and I used to look forward to Disney's Halloween Treat, which was just a collection of old Halloween shorts narrated by the creepy magic mirror, but they quit airing it even though it was a tradition every year. They quit making cartoon shorts entirely for several years. They had good half hour shows like Ducktales, Talespin, and Darkwing Duck, but they didn't make any new Mickey Mouse type of cartoons. They finally started again but it's all computer-animated. I think Disney really started to go to crap when they cut out all of the old programming that Disney was founded on. Those cartoons weren't new when I was a kid, but they stood the test of time and I loved them, so there's no reason for Disney execs to assume a new crop of kids won't like them and to get rid of them. Now you are forced to buy the Treasures DVDs if you want to see anything old or surf YouTube.
You can watch Wish Upon a Star on watch - movies . net. Not sure of the quality but its on there. There may be some more on there. You'll just have to search.
Agreed. I'm amused by those saying that Lizzie McQuire is "old school" Disney... I'm 25 and do not consider anything from as little as 5 years ago "old" Disney. I can't stand High School Musical, Hannah Montana or Lizzie McQuire. But I guess I wasn't 4-7 years old in 1996, so maybe it's just a generation thing?
I grew up on those cartoons, too! I miss them and was really sad to realize that my kids may not get to see them without my shelling out a few hundred bucks. :(
Vintage, you named my EXACT favorites from Disney! I also LOVED The Parent Trap; they played it a lot one summer. I agree that today's stuff just isn't the same. Man, those were the days.
I also remember Disney's Halloween Treat. My mom actually taped it from the Disney channel onto a VHS tape. She still has it... the quality is really bad, haha.

You forgot Meet the Torkelsons/Almost Home. But those were the days.
