What was the deal with the synthesized overture for the play? Other parts were played by real instruments, but the overture was obviously all electronic. Considering Guest's musical abilities and appreciation, this was very disappointing.
If we all liked the same movie, there'd only be one movie!
I thought the reproduced electronic sound gave it a quirkier and cheesier sound, therefore making the play seem even more ridiculous, but that's just me.
shareI was too busy laughing at Bob Balaban's INTENSENESS of conducting I didn't notice the music. Bob acted like he was conducting the NY Philharmonic or something big like that. He acted like his livelihood depended on this moment. He looked stressed, intense, panicky, controlled.
If there's an empty space, just fill it with a line. . even if it's from another show.
