'How tall are you?'

Is "how tall are you" a gay pickup line? Because Guest has at least one character ask that of at least one man (man to man) in every film. He asks Johnny it in the garage, that gay queen asked Ed Begley Jr that in Best in Show and it happened in A Mighty Wind too. It's asked so often I wonder if that is a gay pickup line. If someone asks how tall you are, is that a pickup line?

If there's an empty space, just fill it with a line. . even if it's from another show.

I don't know what it is, but it's not a gay pickup line.

Not any gay pick up line I've ever heard. It could be a clumsy attempt at a pick up line that C. Guest once heard (flatter a straight guy, maybe he'll sleep with you).

Wait ... are you saying Corky is gay? Isn't his wife away someplace? ;-)

As for the line, I think it's just a way of gently flirting regardless of the sexual orientation, getting personal details on someone and showing interest without pushing the envelope too far.

Could Corky's name BE more gay? And him doing the romantic scenes with Parker Posey was hilarious. I wish that city council man who had a crush on Corky (who was glad Johnny wasn't in the show) got a chance to flirt with Corky more. It would have been funny for Corky to blow in Eugene Levy's ear and that gay councilman to blow in Corky's ear.

In the commentary, Guest says they considered a different epilogue scene showing Corky and Steve (the councilman) in their NY(?) apartment. They decided to go with a more downbeat ending.
