OMG. Horrible movie.

I watched the first 30 to 45 minutes then turned it off the tv. I saw it streaming...Netflix I think.

A really awful movie. Vulgar in a frat boy disgusting way (the usual frat boy stuff: poop, vomit, urine, watching someone stuff suppositories in a-hole, etc.) Not funny. Not interesting.

Looks like some guys got together and wrote a script to string together the most juvenile vulgar jokes they could think of, then link them to some sort of plot, but still with the main idea being the frat boy jokes. Ha ha. Funny funny. Not.

I agree with topic creator. This is absolutely terrible. I almost smiled at a few jokes, but that's about it. By far the worst movie I've seen from the top 250.

Watching this movie is akin to having someone force your nose into a pile of shyte for 90 minutes, and then pull you up asking "Now wasn't that edgy and radical?"

Life is too short for the films of Danny Boyle. Although if you want to teach someone how not to direct a film, his work would be a fine contemporary example to point them to. He thinks style is something to be crammed up the cracks in the plot, almost like he's making a Nike ad about heroin abuse. The directorial equivalent of a Close Talker. The (failed) attempts at humor are misplaced in every scene, and he tries to excuse and dilute the abhorrent behavior of his characters with sophomoric jokes. It's a movie about stupid, boring people who are incapable of being funny due to the very nature of who they are and what they do.

Danny Boyle is not the problem. I liked every other movie by him that I saw.

This movie is a bit too realistic these days, being 18 months 13 days sober off heroin myself, the whole movie though I personally believe is very well adapted and well acted, and there are moments that I think the movie will hit addicts a bit harder, just because you haven't done it doesn't mean you can't like it, but a lot of people over many either really like it, or really dislike it.

It's the same with Funny Games, Requiem, and a lot of movies that make feel uncomfortable. Boyle wanted to give a dark comedic look at one of the most painful terrible things a person go through, being a drug/heroin addict.
