SPOILER ALERT - what happens to Begbie at the end?

SPOILER ALERT -

At the end of the film, when Renton takes away the bag from Begbie when he's asleep (by the way, how COULD he have been so sure he WOULDN'T wake up and notice), and then when Begbie starts trashing the hotel room and the police arrive, do they arrest Begbie and jail him for how long? Also - do the two cops even get hurt in the confrontation given Begbie's aggressive nature?

And was Begbie after that pub incident planning to take all £16 000 for himself?

I haven't read the book, nor it's sequel book Porno, but I imagine Begbie fought the cops whom he may have injured, but he'd have been duffed up a bit and later jailed.

And yes, the banter in the pub suggests that they all thought about ripping each other off.

So if jailed, then he would get about 20 years for armed robbery and drug deal as well as several counts of assault (would the people from that pub report him?) and also - could it be possible Begbie attacked that man in a pub AND cut Spud's hand as a diversion tactic to rip off his mates and keep all the money?

I doubt that he attacked that pub guy and cut Spud's hand for a diversion- it achieved the opposite- drawing attention to the psycho!

I meant "diversion" both ironically and in a non-conventional sense. To distract his pals from feeling that they can keep ANY share of the money and acting in his psychotic nature full scale. Hurting others so his own pals would be afraid of him and keep ALL shares of the money.
