How was Roy under par after 2 rounds?

He shot the 83 in the first round and a 62 in the second. What was it a Par 74?lol I know its just a movie but you would think they wouldnt have mistakes this big. Its not that hard to adjust the numbers so they're accurate, like say an 80 and 62. They go into detail about how nobody has shot 10 under in a U.S. Open before(which was true at the time of the movie since then Tiger beat that) and how nobody shot a 62 in a major which again is true but they screw up something this easy. Just like the one where he hits it off the porta potty and onto the green. That ball was obviously on the fringe, it wouldnt have been that difficult to have them actually put the ball on the green.

it is annoying, you'd thing ron shelton, a sports guy himself, would get it right. and the fringe thing, don't get me started there....that was just wrong.

He wasn't under par in 2 rounds, he was 1 over. As they are walking down the 18th fairway the 1 next to Roy's name is black, not red. Black is over par, red is under. Let's assume par 72, the 83 puts him 11 over, the 62 puts him 1 over. After the third round he's 7 under, which puts him shooting a 64 which is still a huge round for the US Open.

I didnt catch the sign but I was referring to the TV graphic when he is putting for his 62 it said -2 or -3(cant remember but it was 1 of those 2), I am 100% positive it was not over par on that graphic.

Yes there were too many moments like this that could have been easily corrected that made it kind of hard to watch. I know, it's just a movie, but making the golf stuff a little more realistic would have made the movie a lot better for me. What about the final hole? Too much backspin with a 3-wood?

I'm watching it right now and just froze it on that graphic, and the graphic shows him at +2 and going for a birdie which makes perfect sense.

Yeah your right it does say +2, so I was I wrong. I just went back and double checked it, I was watching it on an old VHS tape so it was hard to make out the plus or minus on it but after I froze it I could tell. I also think it threw me off because the graphic had the number in a red box which obviously in golf terms is under par.
