The plot is unrealistic - Statistics on interracial crime

When it comes to interracial violence, there are far more crimes committed by blacks against whites than visa versa.

According to the FBI, African-Americans commit 90% of the approximately 1,700,000 interracial crimes of violence that occur in the United States every year, and are more than 50 times more likely to commit a violent crime against whites than visa versa.

-------------------------------------------
Major Findings

1. Blacks commit violent crimes four to eight times the white rate. Hispanics commit violent crimes at approximately three times the white rate, and Asians at one half to three quarters the white rate.

2. Blacks are as much more violent than whites (four to eight times) as men are more violent than women.

3. Of the approximately 1,700,000 interracial crimes of violence involving blacks and whites, 90 percent are committed by blacks against whites. Blacks are 50 times more likely than whites to commit individual acts of interracial violence. They are up to 250 times more likley than whites to engage in multiple-offender or group interracial violence.

4. There is more black-on-white than black-on-black violent crime. Fifty-six percent of violent crimes committed by blacks have white victims. Only two to three percent of violent crimes committed by whites have black victims.

5. Blacks are twice as likely to commit hate crimes.

A white man raping a black child is about as rare as lightning striking a person twice! The plot of this film is just grossly unbelievable and unrealistic. It's a liberal fantasy, a way to demonize white men.

reply

Idiot.

reply

"Idiot"

The truth is the truth regardless of how you may feel about it.
I don't like it anymore than anyone else. If a film were made about a white child who was raped and killed by a black perp, it would be called "racist" by the media and black interest groups, even though that scenario is realistically far more common than the visa versa.

Yeah, he's an idiot for stating facts. FACTS. Not liberal "feelings".

reply

No, he's an idiot because the way he is talking makes it seem like white people NEVER attach black people. While it may not happen a lot, it does in fact happen. This story is about one case and is not a reflection of the entirety of crime in the US.

reply

I posted a similar thread on the Descent board.

I suppose black on black and black on white rape is so common, it's not worth making a film about it, but the very rare white on black rape is story worthy? I dunno.

reply

Liberals don't know how to handle the truth

"...demonize white men..." May I amend that to White men from Mississippi?
I am a native born Mississippian. My family on my Mother's side goes back to the days of this state as a territory. I am a product of the educational system of Mississippi having graduated from Highschool, attended Ole Miss and later graduated from College in Mississippi.
I am a Mississippian.
I have never (and I'm over 65 years of age) had a friend or known anyone in my personal circle of friends with "double names."
Where do these "Billy-Bobs" "Frankie-Lees" Jimmy-Johns" etc. come from?
In my life we always called each other by their last names anyway!
"Hey! Smith! Get your lazy ass over here and tell Brown standing there with you to come too!"
I'm tired of the efforts of the Hollywood "industry" to make ALL Mississippians into some kind of super dumb, mush-mouthed, racist, sub-species.
I would say to Hollywood, and the North, take a look at the "beam" in your own eye before you start makin' more movies about the "mite" in ours!

So...here's the point I got from your post.

White men rarely commit crimes, blacks are the violent criminals, and movies shouldn't be made about things that rarely happen. Correct? I'm actually pretty offended by the point you are trying to make with your statistics. The statistics don't speak for themselves...you do. This movie is far from trying to demonize white men. I believe you are trying to demonize black people with your post.

reply

When it comes down to it, the fact that you are trying to demonize other races by portraying your own in a good light is pretty racist. Nobody is trying to demonize white people. Most of the cast was white, and only a few were "demonized." Even the NAACP was "demonized." Yet you failed to see that, because you were too concerned that your own race was being "demonized." The team defending the black man was all white and yet you failed to see that. Who are you really defending jackwolf? Who are you really afraid America demonizing? Is it really white people?

reply

And also, black on black films are actually common. They just get lumped into the "gang violence" section and are avoided by white people who think they're made by violent black men. The type of "black" who is twice as likely to commit a hate crime. When I hear people like you talk, quite frankly it pisses me off because you speak like you know, but you don't know anything.

reply

Some of these statistics ars suspect. Could you cite the specific FBI documents that contain them?

According to the Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Assault (http://www.ccasa.org/documents/Rape_Myths_&_Facts.pdf), "In 93% of assaults, the rapist and victim are of the same race. In 3.3% of sexual assault cases, black men did rape white women, while in 3.4% of the cases, white men raped black women".

reply

I checked the report you cited. It doesn't give a source for its statistics that is accessible. I don't necessarily disbelieve them but I'd prefer to see them for myself. I did try to source the original stats cited by the person you were responding to, but was unable to.

reply

Exactly. White on black rape is more common than black on white rape.
