closing arguments

Was Jack's closing argument realistic? I don't think you can introduce new evidence in a closing argument. I may be wrong, though.

Jake recounts the events surrounding the abduction and rape. Though we don't see it, it would almost certainly have been submitted when arguing Carl Lee's insanity defense.

I've had a lot of sobering thoughts in my time Del Boy, it's them that started me drinking!

In the book, he wasn't allowed to mention it in trial. Everyone knew because they lived in the area. In the book, a woman in the jury room made that argument.
