Samuel L. Jackson = HEARTBREAKING PERFORMANCE
I was blown away by Samuel L. Jackson's acting in this! I thought he was great; just beyond heart-wrenching. The way he showed emotion when he found out his own little girl was raped, beaten and nearly killed by those two pricks; the way he picked her up and slowly carried her tiny, defenseless body to the ambulance and the way he stared out into space at the hospital when his daughter was being treated.
I thought it was raw and realistic emotion Jackson showed; it certainly was a change of character from the usual wisecracking, tough and less-serious roles he's played like in Pulp Fiction, Shaft, Jackie Brown, etc. I thought his courtroom outburst with "Yes, they deserved to die and I hope they burn in hell!" was extremely moving and well delivered. You could just almost feel his pain.
Honestly I wish that Jackson did more roles like this. He is such a great dramatic actor...
