The porter in LA

He was a funny and interesting character. That was cute how he befriended Faye and the band.

Yes, he was terrific. He just about stole every scene he was in!

And he did so without being over the top. Great casting choice.

It is bad to drink Jobus rum. Very bad.

Totally agree, he was charming in every scene he was in. This movie was so well casted! It's been repeating lately on HBO, and I had forgotten how much I adored this sweet little movie. And anything Tom Hanks touches seems to turn into something magical, doesn't it? I mean really! Look at Castaway alone- sounds like the most boring premise, yet it's a great movie.

I have loved him since Bosom Buddies. When he did Big I was sure he was the real thing, and boy, was and is he.

Yea. Lamar was a perfect example of what courtesy and customer service use to be, in the US and elsewhere. Going above and beyond the call of duty. Now its so much of they do you a favor if they give you a minute of their time.

Bell Captain.

I liked how he described it as "my hotel." That's a pro!

reply

I use to see bell captains turning away taxis from the cue because they were too shabby. Imagine that.
