At 18:57 in the film, there are two Sylvesters shown in shot. I can't see anything about this in the goofs section on IMDb or anywhere else online. Or is this a reference to something and I've just missed the joke?

Films themselves are insubstantial. Your experience encountering a film is the film itself.

Sylvester has a son. I did a double take too, but if you look closely, especially in one of the closer shots, you can see the one in the back is much smaller.
