Change of clothing ?

Don't wanna be nitpicky here this has always bugged me and I'm wondering if I'm alone in this ...
Karl wears the same clothes every day - the same ones he left the 'nervous hospital' in. I know he fixed Lindas washer at one point, further along in the movie but still, if you have only one shirt/pants/underwear/socks, how do you pull that one off ? The boys clothes are too small to borrow and I can't imagine Doyle lending any of his clothes to Karl so ...
I know, like I said, kinda nitpicky . I love this film btw, not looking to knock it. I just can't imagine that this little detail would be over looked.

I thought about that too always wearing the same clothes. I frankly don't think he bathed much either as he stayed in that small room at Bill Cox's garage. Maybe Linda did finally wash his clothes when he was baptized since they got wet. How about when Karl sits all night on that girl's bed before he gets a bus back to his hometown. I don't think he bathed at that house either.
