What was it that Karl's parents told him was in the bible that wasn't?

When Karl confronts his father he tells him he read the bible and that his parents should have never lied about what was in it. What do you think they told him? My instinct tells me they made up something to justify killing his baby brother, or maybe something about "retards". What do you think?

Here are the exact lines so you hopefully remember what I'm talking about:

I learned to read some.

I read the Bible quite a bit.

I can't understand all of it.

But I reckon I understand

a good deal of it.

Them stories you and Mama told me,

they ain't in there.

You ought not done that to your boy.

I studied on killing you.

I studied about it quite a bit.

Possibly justifying killing a fetas. However I don't think Karl's "parents" explained much to him. When Karl said he was waiting for his bible lesson out in his hole, his mother was with Jesse. It looked like Karl's old man was surrounded by containers of urine.

Probably on killing the fetus, how he was treated, maybe why he was "different" from other kids, maybe how his dad treated his mom or vice versa. The movie isn't clear on it...

how he was treated, maybe why he was "different" from other kids,

That's what I thought too. Even though the film does not specify, I figured that Karl's parents lied & said that there was a Bible verse that justified the way they treated him.
How they kept him outside in a dirt hole because 'he was being punished by God' or 'its how you treat mentally impaired children' or some other evil lie.

I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus.
Didn't he discover America?
Penfold, shush.
