the body / slump crap is easy/trivial --- facially ?? --- maybe he put on weight for the role?

I saw Billy Bob interviewed on "The Actor's Studio". James Lipton asked him to do Karl. Billy contorted his face until he looked just like him!
sharehavent seen that one - god that is a profound acting thing
im very impressed - nothing else to say
well ok - more -- it blows me away - his role in this --- its pretty fkn cool - im not ?? faking whatever -- he just does not look like himself - tried to wrap my mind on it - cant

I noticed Billy Bob also played the soda jerk that sold Karl the french fries when he first got out. That character was easily identifiable as Billy Bob. I think there must have been prosthetics on Karl.
edit: I read on another site the soda jerk was Jim Jarmusch. He looks more like Thorton than Karl does.
^Funny you should post that. When I first watched this movie many years ago, I thought the soda jerk guy might be Billy Bob's brother, or some other relative, due to the resemblance, (but later learned, like you, that it was actually writer/director Jim Jarmusch).
shareUmmm what?? That guy doesn't look anything like BBT.
