Whats with the crappy dvd release?

While this isnt a very good movie the one good thing it did have going for it was the visual look of the film & the cinematography, so why in the hell did Fox release this in pan & scan instead of anomorphic widescreen?

I like it too and I´m looking for a very long time for a dvd release in 1,85:1 and uncut. Is there a version somewhere in this world?

There is one - in France. In 1:2,35 and uncut.
But on the english soundtrack the french subtitles are fixed.

The forced French subs are usally out-of-frame, fortunately.

I don't believe the US version is cut - just P&S (though I'm basing that off of a rough 5% PAL to NTSC runtime conversion).

This is Dolph's best movie ever, he blows guys away with this massive weapon, the locations are perfect and a great job by the director.

I wish these two could work with eachother again, they could make another great movie.

Well, the film was shot in 2:35.1, so having a DVD with that Ratio would be a lot nicer.

Maybe Fox will release a hi-def version that will be widescreen & uncut. My fingers are crossed.

Its kind of a bummer.Simple bare bones here in the US.I picked it up 3 years ago in the 6.99 bin at circut city.

So the French DVD is widescreen in 2.35 ratio (with DD 2.0 english track) but it has forced subtitles and morevover the main titles were redesigned in French with the title "Assassin Warrior".

Now there is a German bootleg by High Land, that is also widescreen 2.35 and uncut:

I think I have seen this edition and has german audio only. Unless there is another edition.
