It's the 1959 film,"Operation Petticoat." Cary Grant and Tony Curtis were both hilarious in their roles - - - Gavin McLeod was funny in a supporting role as the near-sighted Seaman Hunkle. The scene in which Tony Curtis's character and he steal the Filipino farmer's pig was almost as absurd as the subsequent one in which the scene-stealing farmer shows up at the submarine with some MPs and has to be placated by the bemused Captain played by Grant. Good war-time movie that captures some of the chaos and confusion sown by the Japanese invasion at the beginning of WW II of the U.S. commonwealth of the Philippine Islands.
shareThey don't make really GOOD military movies anymore. Now every time they make a movie about the military it's always serious and negative. Movies like Sgt. Bilko, Down Periscope, and Pvt. Benjamin always made me want to join the military.
