Why the change?
Does anybody know why her name changed from Spellman to Sawyer for this movie? (And then back to Spellman for everything else?)
shareIt's because this movie came out first. This was probably set-up to see if there would be any interest in a "Sabrina" TV series. Then once the series got going, certain things were changed (such as her last name). This process is quite common with films that turn into TV series.
shareBut the Archie comics have been around for a long time and her name was Spellman. Then the cartoon based on the Archie comic that was done in the 70's had her last name as Spellman. In '96 they made this movie and the series both. Her name in the series is Spellman like it's always been. But for some reason, this movie alone, her last name is different...

Why did they change the actors?I think that Harvey was much cuter in the movie.And Hilda and Zelda were better too.
