Age Question,not about Sabrina

Okay,this is something that kind of confuses me. Now its obvious that Zelda & Hilda don't age, but if they do not age how come there are flashbacks them as little girls. I mean if we are under the impression that they do not age,does that mean they simply stop aging when they are adults?

I've always assumed that witches become adult and then age far slower than other humans. So they do age but at a slower rate.

That is how I always assumed it worked. Once they reach the age of maturity, they begin to age extremely slowly.
