Just watched this and one thing that annoyed me....

Marnie didn't seem that hot and bothered over Jeff asking her to the dance. I remember her making a comment to Sabrina about how she was only going with Jeff because he asked her, and he had a car. Sabrina replies by saying, "don't sell yourself short." I have seen this movie before, but I don't know it that well. Am I missing a scene or something that would explain Marnie's shallow comment? I thought she liked Jeff. I know she had a good time at the dance, but I thought her comments were kind of bitchy. Jeff was cute and seemed nicer than that weasel Seth.
Can't believe this movie is 20 years old, and I am commenting about it. Lol

I recently watched the movie for the first time. The whole Jeff thing comes out of nowhere. Other than Sabrina and Marnie going to the track and field tryouts as Marnie's plan of bagging dates for the spring fling, there's no build-up to it. Marnie just suddenly says something like "Hey, you know that shot putter that I had fun dancing with? Plan worked. He asked me to the spring fling." That was very weird and makes make think a whole subplot was cut from this movie prior to release.
