gary sinise creates one of the finest bad guys in the history of cinema

now i do realise hollywood has created some great bad guys over the years but sinise is just incredible in this movie
first of all he usually plays likeable characters in stuff like forrest gump and subsequently in csi new york and crinimal minds so in first seeing this movie i was to be frank shocked!
he plays a cop here as well and somehow twists him into being a very cunning almost professional criminal (like say richard gere in internal affairs).
every nuance , every word he says , every movement and most of all his eyes!! oh my god his eyes, the most cunning deceitful evil looking eyes ever put on celluloid. a good example of that is when he sees tom mullen on the tv with the plot ransom twist, sinsise is taken back but his eyes remain calm and thoughtful.
also his car to car conversation with gibson is just terrific.
in all just shocking but terrific casting by ron howard.
