What was the purpose of Buddy taking Carla to the Scream?

What was the purpose of Buddy wanting to take Carla to the Scream? Did he only do it so he can get revenge on Reggie or did he do it cause he wanted to spend time with Carla?

I think he did it more so to get back at Reggie and the results were hilarious.

The first time, he wanted to spend time with Carla. The second time, he wanted to get back at Reggie for the fat jokes. And he did it in grand style.

he went there because its where the kids go...and he wanted to impress carla...but then he got his revenge

It was basically Sherman's alter ego wanting to 'do it right' this time. At this early stage, I think Sherman was still somewhat in control and just acting out in his new body, but he obviously got carried away.
