Low Rating Proves IMDB System Is A Joke.

If Eddie Murphy was making high grossing movies today, I guarantee you that this movie would be rated higher. That's how phony people are now on IMDB. They are Bandwagon fans. They go back and rate Johnny Depp worst movies higher because of that fact. This movie is clearly hilarious. Also it has something to do with America growing into a nation full of fat asses as well. Now they feel "offended" because it's easier to do that than lose weight.

I've noticed it with a lot of 90's family & kids films. Maybe nostalgia is playing into it? I always thought movies like "Harriet The Spy" were considered at the least, good, but IMDb disagrees.

It should be at least 7.5 or 8 on IMDB,this is one of my favorite comedies. I wonder if people were offended by the fat jokes

Agreed. Remember this movie being big back in the day and most people liked it. Not so much for the sequel though but this first one was good. Expected somewhat of a 7.5 rating or at least 6. something.

I remember this being one of the more popular comedies of the 90's. I glanced through some of the user reviews and it seems like they're mostly positive. I'm not sure where the low rating is coming from. I thought it would be in the 6-7 range for sure.

Or it could be, now wait for it, this might offend you, they just didn't like it. I mean really, the people who are decrying the ratings are the same idiots who think if they like a movie, everyone must like it.
